The TRIVIA Challenge RULES (and such)
The Basics
Test your knowledge of Anime in the ultimate showdown
with you team of expert Meacha Pilots. The winning team will be receiving a gift
bag full of geeky goodies, but you also get bragging rights for a year. And yes, we have
a buzzer system :)
The Setup:
As many teams of 3 to 6 players as we can fit in the room. We will have Spoiler
Team signup so that if you didn't come with a team, you can start filling in till
a team of single misfits has been formed. Once Round 1 has begun, NO TEAM
CHANGES will be allowed.
ROUND 1: (FRIDAY)
Round One, is open to EVERYONE who wants to participate, you simply need a team
of 3 to 6 players. THis round is a written exam covering MANY aspects of
geekdom. You will be given 45 minutes to complete and turn in the exam. ONLY
the top FOUR (4) teams will advance to ROUND 2.
*In the event of a tie, I will the re-grade the tests and count off for mis-
spelled words. If the tie still exists after that, then a simple, whichever team
answers one question off the top of my head wins the final spot.
ROUND 2: (SATURDAY)
Round Two, is the Buzzer round. Each team will take a seat at a table, up to
four players from each team will take up a buzzer and try and beat each other out
in 3 segments of questions and answers. You can only switch team members between
these segments. At the end of the round, TWO teams will be announced for the
FINAL ROUND of TRIVIA :)
*Note, that if a team has less than 3 people present at there table during Round
2 or 3, they forfeit the round, and the opposing team WINS.
ROUND 3: (FINAL ROUND) (SUNDAY)
Round Three is the same as round two. 3 parts. Winner takes all.
*Final notes, your team gets ONE chance to answer a question, first to press the
buzzer must answer. If the first team asnwers wrong, and I didn't finish the
question, I will re-state the question for the second team. The buzzer must
still be pressed by a member of the second team before that person can answer.
**If you are to challenge an answer or question, you must do so IMMEDIATELY, once
the question has been passed and a new question is being asked there will be NO
re-do's. The proctor will have several back-up questions. But do remember, we
are geeks as well, and we know our stuff :)
***And before anyone asks the question. These are the area's of geekdom that we
will be pulling questions from, and don't worry, we will be fairly specific with
the question if the answer could depend on what era it depends on, that isn't to
scare you into thinking it's gonna be uber/hardcore/super geek competition, but
be warned, the last round will have some 'doozies' in there. But for the most
part we'll probably ask stuff like "Name Han Solo's Wookie Companion?":
- Movies
- TV Shows
(within the nature of Anime)
We hope to see everyone there, and we look forward to seeing which team of Fans
is truly worthy of TRIVIA TRIUMPH!
